We are a group made up of parents from the wider parent forum (every parent with a child in school is automatically a member of the Parent Forum) who represent all of the parents/carers at Carstairs Junction Primary School & Early Learning and Childcare (ELC). We are interested in what is going on in the school and want to help the school by representing the views of the parents to the school leadership team. We are engaged in supporting the school with business relevant to education, and curriculum, as well as holding events to raise much needed extra funds for our school.

I have a question but can’t attend a meeting, what can I do?
No problem. You can raise an idea, issue or concern with any of our council members and they can raise it at the next meeting on you behalf. You could email the school Parent Council email address : xx. We’ll let you know we’ve received your email and we’ll also reply to you after the meeting with a response to your question or query. You can also contact us via Facebook.
My child is in ELC. Can I still join?
Yes you can. It’s never too early to join the Parent Council. We do however have a ‘Nursery Natter’ which is a meeting specifically for ELC parents. You welcome to join either or both!
I can’t attend the Parent Council meetings but I am keen to know what is going on. How will I know what has been discussed?
The Minutes of our meetings will be shared on our school website.
- We represent the views of all parents/carers and encourage links between the school, parents, pupils, pre-school groups and the wider community
- We develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils
- We work in partnership with the school to discuss the school improvement plan
- We encourage and support social and educational activities, in school and the local community, to raise funds for the benefit of Carstairs Junction Primary School
- We represent the Parent Forum in the selection of new senior staff as required

- Date of next meeting: The next Parent Council meeting will be held on Wednesday 28th February 2024 at 9:30am. Please note our Parent Council meetings are in person now in the gym hall.

Parent Council Christmas Raffle Success! Huge thanks to our Parent Council and wider parent forum for the extremely generous donations to our Chirstmas raffle. We raised an astonishing £1276! This is a huge amount for a small school.
