Eco Committee

We are extremely proud to have been awarded our 6th Eco Schools Green Flag Award! Our Committee is responsible for carrying out environmental reviews and preparing an Action Plan for the whole school to engage in where all children, staff and parents are actively encouraged to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSO)

Our senior Junior Road Safety Officers raise awareness of and support our road safety programme. JRSOs help promote road safety issues within the ELC and school and help to communicate these important messages within the local community.
Reading Schools Committee 

We are really excited to embark on our Reading Schools accreditation. Through our committee group, we are further devleoping our reading experiences across the ELC and school. We are not only looking at opportunities within the school but also at home.

Pupil Council 

Our Pupil Council elects members across the stages. This session we have been focusing on school improvement priorities and anti-bullying.

Outdoor Learning and Play Committee

We work together to promote outdoor learning whilst making improvements to our school grounds and local area. Working in partnership with Carstairs Junction Community Action Group, we also help to support community projects.

Our Outdoor and Play Committee have been working on developing the school grounds. Our infants are benefiting from the development of the loose parts area. We look forward to the seniors developing the outdoor space through their John Muir accreditation.
Enterprise and Charity Committee

We lead the planning and organisation of whole school events. At our meetings we develop an understanding of the different jobs people do with a focus on skills for life, learning and work. We contribute to lots of enterprise activities throughout the year including charity fundraising events.

So far this session the committee have chosen to support Children in Need and raised £167.73. The commitee organised a "Guess the Number of Spots in the Jar" and also asked staff and pupils to put loose change on the Pudsey mural. 
Inclusion and Equality Committee 

As a nurturing school its is important that all pupils, staff and parents feel included and are treated equally. The committee consider all the ways those in our school community can feel truly welcomed valued and respected. The committee also raise awareness of how unique and special we all are.
